Poon hill trek is very popular, short and probably most tourists have visited trekking destination in Nepal. poon hill trek will provide you a great opportunity to experience the local people’s lifestyle, flowers and fauna of Nepal, the magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, the seventh-highest mountain in the world, Manaslu eighth-highest mountain in the world, Annapurna one tenth-highest mountain in the world. Nilgiri, Tukuche peak, Ganesh himal, Langtang and many more snow peaks can be seen on this trip. Sunrise and Mountain View from Poon Hill will be unforgettable memories in your life. This program is highly recommended for the Christ Max trek and New Year's holiday trip in Nepal. Similarly, this is the best trekking destination in Nepal for a winter season trek. The best time to do poon hill trek is from January to May and October to December. March–April are especially more beautiful with the Rhododendron flower, the national flower of Nepal. Guide for Nepal Private Limited makes a suitable trekking itinerary as per the client’s interest and time limit. Poon Hill Trek costs start from USD 835 to USD 1310 per person, depending on the number of pax booked and service included in the trip. The trekking price normally includes a trekking permit, Annapurna conservation fee, poon hill entry fee, guide cost, porter cost, local transportation service, lodging and food during the trekking. Kathmandu hotel, Pokhara hotel, Kathmandu to Pokhara and Pokhara to Kathmandu transportation services are also included as per cost in the trekking price.

Itineraries

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu 1370 meter

A representative from Guide for Nepal Pvt. Ltd. will heartily welcome to you in Tribhuvan international (TIA) airport 1370 meter from sea level in any time of your arrival and help you transfer to hotel at Thamel. Kathmandu is capital city of Nepal and it is normally busy during the day. It is about 15-25 minutes’ drive from airport to Thamel. It depends on your arrival time and traffic. You might have some time to explore Thamel or visit some important place in Kathmandu city and final preparation for Trekking from next day.

Day 02

Kathmandu to Pokhara 820 meter

After breakfast in your hotel, you will start your journey to Pokhara 820 meter as per planned. It takes about 6-8 hours by tourist bus or private vehicle to reach Pokhara. It depends on road condition and traffic even Kathmandu to Pokhara is just 200 km far in road distance. all the tourist buses leave at 7 am from near Thamel. Flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara takes about 25 minutes and flight is available from 8:30 AM onwards hole day by few different domestic airlines. We have designed this program taking plane for time saving, comfort journey and especially beautiful scenery from plan. Pokhara is one of the most popular touristic places in Nepal. There are some nice places to visit in Pokhara if you have a free time. Panoramic view of hole Annapurna range, fishtail, Lamjung Himal is visible from your hotel at lakeside.

Day 3

Pokhara to Ulleri Village 1960 meter

After your breakfast at hotel, guide will arrange private jeep/car and Drive to Nayapul about one and half hours then Trek to Ulleri village 1960-meter 6/7 hours. Trek from Nayapul to ulleri walk throw local village following bhurundi khola after crossing modi khola and Annapurna conservation area check post at birethati. You can make your lunch break somewhere on the way.

Day 4

Ulleri Village to Ghorepani 2860 meter

Trek starts after breakfast as usual and from Ulleri village to Ghorepani 2860-meter walking 4-5 hours passing Banthati then walking throw mixed and rhododendron forest. Most of the trail is some step up and gradually uphill all the way to Ghorepani about 900-meter ascent in total.

Day 5

Ghorepani – Poon hill - Tadapani 2630 meter

Today you have to wake up early morning to see sunrise view and mountains view from poon hill 3210 meter. It takes 45 minutes to 1 hours all the way steps up to poon hill from ghorepani. After poon hill you back to hotel for breakfast and packing bag then trek to Tadapani 2630-meter walking 5-6 hours some ascending and descending throw mixed, rhododendron forest in step narrow trail.

Day 6

Tadapani to Ghandruk Village 1960 meter

Today is very short and easy Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk village 1960-meter walking only 2-3 hours throw rhododendron and some mixed forest descending about 650-meter. You will finish your trek to Ghandruk village before lunch. Hole after noon can take rest/relax and short walk around Ghandruk village.

Day 7

Ghandruk to Pitam Deurali 2050 meter

Trek from Ghandruk village to Pitam Deurali 2050-meter take about 5-6 hours walking step downhill, step uphill and some Himalayan flat as well. There will be about 400–500-meter descent and 500–600-meter ascent going down to cross Modi Khola and climb up to Pitam Deurali.

Day 8

Pitam Deurali to Pokhara 820 meter

Last day Trek from Pitam Deurali to Phedi is some easy and some step downhill 3-4 hours passing throw Dhampus Village and beautiful view of Annapurna two, Annapurna four, Lamjung Himal. Manaslu range can be visible in distance. Phedi to Pokhara is about 30-minute drive and afternoon is free in Lakeside, Pokhara.

Day 9

Pokhara to Kathmandu 1370 meter

You can have breakfast as program and be ready to back Kathmandu on time as per planned, drive 6-8 hours or fly 25 minutes.

Day 10

Back to home country

If your flight time is late afternoon or evening, you can visit some place in Kathmandu your own or if you need help, we can provide guide and vehicle on extra charge. Otherwise, be ready at hotel on time as per your flight details to catch international flight. A Representative from Guide for Nepal Pvt Ltd will arrange transportation and drop you in Tribhuvan international (TIA) airport and good bye for this time wishing safe journey back to home.

Poon Hill - Mardi Himal trek is medium hard walking lot of steps up and down.

Mardi Himal base camp 4200 meters above sea level is the highest point in Poon Hill – Mardi Himal trek.

Normally, 5-7 hours walk every day in trek.

Mostly twin bed room with common toilet, few place is sharing room.

January to May and October to December is the best time to go Poon Hill - Mardi Himal trek.

Poon Hill - Mardi Himal is worth for view. Similarly, Mardi Himal base camp is also beautiful place.

Useful Information:

  • Read about area where you are trekking soon.
  • Read about weather forecast.
  • Read about culture, religion.
  • Make sure are you physically fit for trek/tour.
  • Double check all the trekking equipment before you start trek.
  • Make sure all gadget is ready/full charged and well dress before start birding tour.
  • If you have brand new trekking boots, use at least few times before trek.
  • Check your flight ticket, trekking permit and other necessary documents before start trek.
  • Read and be clear with your program in details before you start your tour.
  • Better ask permission before taking photograph of someone during the tour.
  • Better not encourage street dog to follow you/group by giving food.
  • Better not encourage children to beg by giving money/candy.
  • Respect local culture.
  • Listen your tour Guide.
  • Follow rule and regulations while you are trekking in national park/conservation area.
  • Eat and drink properly, stay hydrated, read your body and listen AMS alerts while you are in the mountain/trekking.

Hats off to Phurkel Sherpa, many thanks again to you for a wonderful ten days exploring Nepal. I was recommended Phurkel as a guide by a friend, and I'm so glad that I hired him. I explained my requirements and limitations (such as budget and location), and Phurkel tailored a trekking package for me. He gave me several options, and I settled on the Annapurna Circuit trek, which best suited my goals and budget. He picked me up and dropped me off from my hotels in Kathmandu before and after the trek. Phurkel even gave me tips and advice about where to go either side of the trek - thanks for the recommendation of Nagarkot, what an amazing place to acclimatise! From beginning to end, Phurkel was thoughtful, knowledgeable and generous. He always checked that I was alright physically and mentally, making sure that I stayed hydrated and well-fed. Despite our trek being in the off-season, his good relationships with the owners of hotels and teahouses meant we always had somewhere nice to stay and tasty meals to eat. So many good dal bhats! To top it off, Phurkel is deeply knowledgeable about his country, its people and its wildlife. I learned so much about Nepal's numerous ethnic groups, their ancient cultures and the amazing locations they live in. Phurkel is also an expert on local wildlife, particularly Nepal's many bird species. I often felt like I was in my very own nature documentary - he would make every effort to show me all the birds he spotted (he's a proper eagle eye!) More than anything, Phurkel is great company. I was a solo trekker, so we spent a lot of time together. He was always available to chat when I wanted to, and he thoughtfully answered my many, many questions. Perhaps most importantly, and one of the reasons I would like to call Phurkel a good friend, he made sure that I had the space to be private and alone when I needed it. Genuinely one of the best weeks I've ever had, from beginning to end!

I just got back from ACT about 1 week ago and this is my 1st hiking trip at Nepal. I loved every bit of this journey as Phurkel arrangement is really giving me an ease of mind. Firstly, his prepping for us prior to arriving in Nepal is so assuring. Secondly, once we landed at Kathmandu Airport, he managed the entire journey smoothly. Thirdly, he guide us on how to complete the hike successfully and more importantly "safely". Phurkel is also very knowledgeable about the history and geography of the land and always willing to share those infor. He is also well verse of the bird species. Last but not least, he is a FUN guy.. and you need this as you be spending many days with your guife.
