Trip Overview

This unique Muldai view trek itinerary takes you to the middle of two massive eight thousand mountains: Dhaulagiri 8167 meters, the seventh highest, and Annapurna 8091 meters, the tenth-highest mountain in the world and The Trek starts hiking through the local village via Poon hill, passing Rhododendron Forest, a scenic trail all the way to Muldai view point 3635 meters, spending overnight at Khopra dada view point 3660 meters just in front of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Range.

Muldai view trek inside the Annapurna conservation area is an absolutely recommended itinerary for bird-watching trekkers hiding deep inside nature in the countryside for a week even though it is not far from beautiful Pokhara city.
The trip starts in Kathmandu by driving 6–8 hours (200km) or flying 25 minutes to Lake City Pokhara 820m, then the next day, drive a few hours to start the real trek and continue through local villages, mixed and Rhododendron Forest, which bloom during the March – April makes Ghorepani, poon hill area even more colorful and attractive scenery to tourist.

Similarly,Pokhara, Poon hill 3210m, Rhododendron flowers, Khopra dada 3660m, Muldai view point 3635m and Ghandruk village are highlights of the Trek and March to May in spring and September to December in Autumn is the best time to do the Muldai view -Khopra trek.

Itineraries

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu 1370 meters

A representative from Guide for Nepal Pvt. Ltd. will heartily welcome you at Tribhuvan international (TIA) airport 1370 meters from sea level at any time of your arrival and help you transfer to your hotel in Thamel. Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal, and it is normally busy during the day. It is about 15–25 minutes’ drive from the airport to the Thamel. It depends on your arrival time and traffic. You might have some time to explore Thamel or visit some important places in Kathmandu city and final preparation for trekking from the next day.

Day 02

Kathmandu to Pokhara 820 meters

After breakfast in your hotel, you will start your journey to Pokhara 820 meters as per planned. It takes about 6–8 hours by tourist bus or private vehicle to reach Pokhara. It depends on road conditions and traffic. Even Kathmandu to Pokhara is just 200 km far in road distance. All the tourist buses leave at 7 am from near Thamel. Flights from Kathmandu to Pokhara take about 25 minutes and flights are available from 8:30 AM onwards the whole day by a few different domestic airlines. We have designed this program to take a plane for a time-saving, comfortable journey and especially the beautiful scenery from the plan. Pokhara is one of the most popular tourist places in Nepal. There are some nice places to visit in Pokhara if you have free time. Panoramic views of the whole Annapurna range, fishtail, Lamjung Himal are visible from your hotel at lakeside.

Day 3

Pokhara to Ulleri Village 1960 meters

After your breakfast at the hotel, the guide will arrange a private jeep/car and drive to Hile for about one and a half hours, then trek to Ulleri village 1960 meters for 3/4 hours. The trek from Hile to Ulleri walks through the local village, crossing Burungdi Khola. After crossing Bhurungdi Khola, the trail is quite a step uphill all the way to Ulleri village.

Day 4

Ulleri Village to Ghorepani 2860 meters

The trek starts after breakfast as usual and from Ulleri village to Ghorepani 2860-meter walking for 4–5 hours, passing Banthati, then walking through mixed and rhododendron forest. Most of the trail is some steps up and gradually uphill all the way to Ghorepani, about a 900-meter ascent in total.

Day 5

Ghorepani – Poon hill - Swatha village 2225 meters

Today you have to wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise and mountains view from Poon Hill 3210 meters. It takes 45 minutes to 1 hour all the way up to Poon Hill from Ghorepani. After Poon Hill, you go back to your hotel for breakfast and pack a bag, then trek to Swath village, 2225-meter walking 3–4 hours, some descending through mixed, rhododendron forest.

Day 6

Swatha village to Dhankharka 3225 meters

Swatha village to Dhankharka is a 3–4 hours trek, ascending 1000m, walking through broadleaf, bamboo and Rhododendron Forest to spend a night in a small place with just a few normal lodges located on the hillside at 3225 meters.

Day 8

Dhankharka to Khopra dada 3660 meters

Dhankharka to Khopra Dada is a short trek walking 2–3 hours, ascending 435m. The first part of the trail is quite a step uphill, then the rest of the trail is gradual and some flat as well. Khopra dada lodge is situated in Khopra range at 3660m above sea level. There is only one tea house at Khopra Dada, so during the high season might be always busy. The sunset view from Khopra Dada is really beautiful in clear weather.

Day 9

Khopra dada to Dobate 3420 meters

After having breakfast and enjoying the view from Khopra Dada, trek start walking back the same way for some time, then follow the left trail towards Bayali where you might make lunch break, then the trek continue to Dobate at 3420 meters. Today is 5–6 hours trek ascending and descending few hundred meters.

Day 10

Dobate to Tadapani 2630 meters

Wake up early morning to hike up to Muldai view point 3635m for sunrise sight. Muldai view point offers stunning views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna south, Hiuchuli, fishtail and poon hill on the way back down. After beautiful views from the top of Muldai view point, back to the tea house for breakfast and the trek continues to Tadapani at 2630m, descending 790m passing Meshar and Iswori, a small place good for lunch break.

Day 11

Tadapani to Pokhara 820 meters

Today is the last day of the trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk village, which can be completed in 2–3 hours easily and Ghandruk village to Pokhara is a few hours' drive by local private jeep or bus as per the program. Ghandruk village is a really beautiful village situated at 1960 meters above sea level, where you might have your last mountain lunch break with beautiful views in Ghandruk village before riding a jeep to Pokhara.

Day 12

Pokhara to Kathmandu

You can have breakfast as programmed and be ready to back to Kathmandu on time as per planned, drive 6–8 hours or fly 25 minutes.

Day 13

Departure

If your flight time is late afternoon or evening, you can visit some place in Kathmandu on your own or, if you need help, we can provide a guide and a vehicle at an extra charge. Otherwise, be ready at the hotel on time as per your flight details to catch an international flight. A representative from Guide for Nepal Pvt Ltd will arrange transportation and drop you off at Tribhuvan International (TIA) airport. Goodbye to this time, wishing you a safe journey back home.
