Trip Overview

Manaslu circuit trek provide special chance to explore verities of landscape and other beautiful sceneries, local peoples and their daily lifestyle, stunning view of Manaslu and other peaks, flower and fauna and many more new things while we trek from 870 meters up to 5106 meters in Manaslu circuit trek.

March to May in spring season and October to November in Autumn season is the best time to do Manaslu circuit trek. The best view of Manaslu can be visible from Lho and Syala villages and the magnificent views of the other peaks are incredible.

Manaslu Circuit Trekking cost start from USD 1155 to USD 1355 per person depending on the season and numbers of pax booked and on services. Manaslu trek cost includes special permit, Manaslu conservation (MCAP) fee, Annapurna conservation (ACAP) fee, trekking permit, transportation, Guide and porter salary, foods and accommodation.

Below is our day to day Itinerary of the Manaslu Circuit Trek - 16 Days.

Itineraries

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu

A representative from Guide for Nepal Pvt Ltd will heartily welcome to you in Tribhuvan international (TIA) airport 1370 meter from sea level in any time of your arrival and help you transfer to hotel at Thamel. Kathmandu is capital city of Nepal and it is normally busy during the day. It is about 15-25 minutes’ drive from airport to Thamel. It depends on your arrival time and traffic. You might have short time to visit some place in Kathmandu and final preparation for Trip from next day.

Day 02

Sightseeing in Kathmandu

Today is preparation of Manaslu circuit trek. Specially, we have submitted Nepal visa with original passport in immigration office to get Manaslu special permit. After breakfast you can visit two popular place BAUDHANATH STUPA and PASUPATINATH TEMPLE in Kathmandu and preparation of trek.

Day 3

Kathmandu to Machha Khola

Be ready with all necessary equipment for your Manaslu trek and you can store extra things in hotel which you can collect after trek. Your Guide, porter and jeep will be in your hotel at mentioned time and you can start your journey. Kathmandu to machhakhola is about 160 kilometer in road distance and it takes about 7-9 hours depends on road condition and traffic. Machhakhola is situated at 870 meters near budhigandaki river bank in gorkha district. Machhakhola is quite small place just 4-5 lodge and few local shops.

Day 4

Machha Khola to Jagat

Be ready with your back-pack for breakfast, trek start right after breakfast crossing first suspension bridge in Manaslu circuit trek and continue towards khorlabesi – tatopani – Dovan following budhigandaki river. Trek still continues some gradual and some steps uphill and stop for lunch break in suitable time on the way then continue to Jagat village. Machhakhola to Jagat village about 6-8 hours depends on walking peace. Jagat village is at 1340 meters from sea level and it is 470-meter ascent from machhakhola. Machhakhola to Jagat is approximately 18-kilometer trek.

Day 5

Jagat to Deng

Take a breakfast and be ready as plan. Trek starts after checked in Manaslu conservation post and police check post where they check all permits. After checking all documents trek continue towards salle – philim – chisopani -ngakphedi – pewa and Deng 1860 meters just crossing budhigandaki river few times and following up. Jagat to Deng is roughly 6-8 hours depending on walking speed. Deng is small place with only 2-3 lodge. Jagat to Deng is about 520 meters ascent. Jagat to Deng is approximately 18.5 -kilometer.

Day 6

Deng to Namrung

Deng to namrung trail is quite narrow step uphill walking along budhi Gandaki river crossing bridge few times passing bhi phedi and gap village. Gap is better place to stop for lunch. After lunch trek continue gradual uphill walking throws some mixed forest all the way to Namrung village 2630m. deng to namrung is approximately 17 km ascending 800 meters is about 6-7 hours.

Day 7

Namrung to Lho Village

After hot and nice breakfast as normal day trek start with easy walking almost in level and some step uphill continue towards Lho village passing Lhi where you might make tea break and enjoy view. Trek still gradually uphill all the way to Lho village 3180 meters from sea level. Namrunng to Lho village is almost 10 km far in trek distance ascending 550 meters.

Day 8

Lho village to Sama Gaun

Today is easy and short-day trek from Lho village to Sama Gaun passing Syala village where you might have early tea break and enjoy closer view of Manaslu in better angles. Lho village to Sama gaun is approximately 8 km ascending 340 meters in about 4 hours. Sama gaun is about 3520 meters high from sea level.

Day 9

Acclimatization day at Sama Gaun

Today is your acclimatization day you can take your breakfast even later than usual day if you are taking easy day around village. The best place for short is just walk up to Birendra Lake and back to lodge for lunch and short hike around the village. Listen and keep your body warm, drink and eat properly, stay hydrated. If you have any problem or AMS symptom share with your friends or Guide. Don’t hide problem and continue.

Day 10

Sama Gaun to Samdo

Sama gaun to Samdo is another short and easy day walking almost flat and very slow uphill in some place. Anyway, take a breakfast and be ready in regular time due to better weather in the morning time than afternoon. You will reach samdo in lunch time. So, you can make short hike near samdo or take rest. Sama gaun to samdo is about 8 km and it take 3-4 hours just few hundred meters ascending. Samdo village is situated at 3800 meters from sea level. Listen and keep your body warm, drink and eat properly, stay hydrated. If you have any problem or AMS symptom share with your friends or Guide. Don’t hide problems and continue.

Day 11

Samdo to Dharmasala

Samdo to Dharmasala is the shortest day trek in Manaslu circuit just 6 km in distance take 2-3 hours gradually 660 meters. Dharmasala is located at 4460 meters from sea level and there is only three small lodge and each lodge has some two men tent for accommodation. Dharmasala is also popular as larke pass phedi. Listen and keep your body warm, drink and eat properly, stay hydrated. If you have any problem or AMS symptom share with your friends or Guide. Don’t hide problems and continue.

Day 12

Dharmasala -Larke Pass - Bhimthang

Today is biggest day in Manaslu circuit trek. be ready in mentioned time with bag pack and all necessary equipment. Eat hot breakfast, carry some chocolate bar/energy bar and take enough water. Trek starts as soon as finish breakfast very early morning and continue gradual uphill all the way to Larke pass 5106 meters from sea level. Dharmasala to larke pass is about 7 km trek normally need 3-5 hours as per walking peace ascending 650 meters. Larke pass to bhimthang is all the way about 1386 meters descending takes 3-5 hours as per different peace to complete almost 9 km. Average distance from dharmasala to bhimthang is 15.5 km. bhimthang is situated at 3720 meters above sea level in manang districe, one of the best places in Manaslu circuit trek.

Day 13

Bhimthang to Goa

Just be ready at mentioned time for breakfast even if you feel bit tired from yesterday’s long walk. Trek start walking downhill from starting point to almost all the way to Goa passing some mixed forest taking lunch break in surkikhola. Goa is small village situated at altitude of 2520 meters from sea level. Bhimthang to goa is approximately 13 km almost 1200 meters descent in 5-7 hours.

Day 14

Goa - Dharapani - Besisahar

Today is last day of Manaslu circuit trek you can start just after breakfast as usual and trek to dharapani 1860 meters descending 660 meters. From dharapani Guide will arrange local private jeep and drive to Besisahar 760 meters. Dharapani to besisahar is about 43 km in road distance need 2-3 hours due to narrow offroad. You might have good celebration and happy dinner with all trekking crew after successful Manaslu circuit trek.

Day 15

Besisahar to Kathmandu

Besisahar to kathmandu is 175 km via dumre-besisahar and Prithivi highway normally take 5-6 hours by private car, jeep, bus. It depends on road condition and traffic. Anyway, it is better to start early morning after your breakfast in lodge and you can make short break few times on the road wherever is possible.

Day 16

Back to home

If your flight time is late afternoon or evening, you can visit some place in Kathmandu your own or if you need help, we can provide guide and vehicle on extra charge. Otherwise, be ready at hotel on time as per your flight details to catch international flight. A Representative from Guide for Nepal Pvt Ltd will arrange transportation and drop you in Tribhuvan international (TIA) airport and good bye for this time wishing safe journey back to home.
