Trip Overview

Langtang valley trek is very easy and popular trekking destination in Nepal. The Langtang valley trekking plan provides panoramic views of the Langtang range, 360-degree Mountain View from the top of Tserko Ri and Kyanjin Ri Peak. Langtang valley is reach in flowers and fauna with chances to see a very rare wild animal red panda, the Himalayan Monal, the national bird of Nepal.

The best viewpoints on the Langtang valley trek are Tserko Ri 4985m and Kyanjin Ri 4600m. These two peaks are the highest destinations in the Langtang valley trek You can go with a normal trekking permit. Langtang trekking prices are cheaper for ten days compared with other treks. 

Langtang valley trekking cost start from USD 675 to USD 1155 per person depending on the numbers of pax booked. The total cost depends as per group size and service included in the program.

Itineraries

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu

A representative from Guide for Nepal Pvt Ltd will heartly welcome to you in Tribhuvan international (TIA) airport 1370 meter from sea level in any time of your arrival and help you transfer to hotel at Thamel. Kathmandu is capital city of Nepal and it is normally busy during the day. It is about 15-25 minutes’ drive from airport to Thamel. It depends on your arrival time and traffic. You might have some time to explore Thamel or visit some important place in Kathmandu city and final preparation for Trekking from next day.

Day 02

Kathmandu to Thulo Syabru village

Take breakfast in your hotel and be ready with your trekking gear and all the other necessary equipment for the trek. If you have some extra luggage, you can store it in the hotel and receive it after the trek. The guide, porter and jeep will arrive at your hotel at the mentioned time, then you start your journey to Thulo Syabru 2210 meters. Kathmandu to Thulo Syabru village is approximately 120 km, and it is about 5–6 hours’ drive from Kathmandu.

Day 3

Thulo Syabru to Lama Hotel

After breakfast in the lodge, the trek started as planned, going downhill to cross the suspension bridge and continuing downhill all the way down to Pairo hotel. From Pairo hotel, the trek gradually goes uphill, following Langtang Khola throws mixed forest to bamboo. It might be the best spot for lunch break, then trek continue uphill till Rimche. From Rimche, the last part is about 30 minutes to Lama Hotel 2490 meters. Thulo Syabru to Lama hotel is roughly 5–7 hours, descending about 300 meters and ascending 500 meters.

Day 4

Lama Hotel to Langtang village

After breakfast, as usual, the trek starts from Lama hotel gradually uphill, following Langtang Khola/river throws mixed forest all the way to Ghodatabela and then Thangsyap village. There will already be good views of Langtang Lirung and some other peaks before we reach Ghodatabela. March-April will be more colorful with rhododendron flowers in this area. After lunch, the last part is about 2–3 hours more to Langtang village, 3500 meters. The average time from Lama Hotel to Langtang is 6–7 hours and about 1010 meters ascents.

Day 5

Langtang to Kyanjin Gumba

Langtang village to Kyanjin Gumba is a very short trek and an easy uphill enjoying the mountain scenery. Langtang to Kyanjin Gumba is just a 2-3-hour walk and about a 370-meter ascent. Kyanjin gumba is at an altitude of 3870 meters from sea level and Kyanjin gumba is the last tea house in Langtang valley.

Day 6

Exploration day

There is an option either you can just walk around Kyanjin Gumba, enjoy the view and take a rest, climb Kyan Ri peak 4773 meters from sea level about 4–5 hours round trip or Tserko Ri peak 5033 meters roughly needs a 7–9 hour round trip (only recommended for fit and strong people).

Day 7

Kyanjin Gumba to Lama Hotel

Kyanjin gumaba to Lama Hotel is about a 5-7-hour trek and the way downhill descending 1380 meters. It is mostly easy downhill. So, some people can finish in 5 hours.

Day 8

Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi

The trek starts after breakfast as usual. Lama hotel to Syabrubesi is all downhill, following Langtang khola, descending 960 meters. The average time from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi is 4–6 hours. Syabrubesi is situated at 1530 meters from sea level on the Dhunchhe – Kerung Highway Road.

Day 9

Syabrubesi to Kathmandu

Take breakfast and be ready at the mentioned time with all bag packs. Syabrubesi to Kathmandu is 122 km in road distance and Syabrusei to Kathmandu is about 6 hours’ drive through Trisuli bazar.

Day 10

Back to home

If your flight time is late afternoon or evening, you can visit some place in Kathmandu on your own or, if you need help, we can provide a guide and vehicle on an extra charge. Otherwise, be ready at the hotel on time as per your flight details to catch an international flight. A representative from Guide for Nepal Pvt Ltd will arrange transportation and drop you off at Tribhuvan International (TIA) airport and goodbye for this time wishing you a safe journey back home.

Normally, 5-7 hours walk every day in trek.

Mostly twin bed room with common toilet, few place is sharing room.

There is no snow all the time.

March to May and October to December is the best time to go Langtang trek.
