Trip Overview

There are many popular bird-watching places in Nepal. Among them, Phulchoki and Godawori forest is the best choice for a half or full-day birding tour in Kathmandu valley. Phulchoki hill is about 29 km to the south-east of Thamel, Kathmandu. Phulchoki hill actually means hill of flowers where you can see different types of flowers blooming specially in spring. Kathmandu valley is surrounded by shivapuri mountain, Nagarjun mountain, chandragiri mountain, Phulchoki mountain and Nagarkot mountain. Among them, Phulchoki is the highest mountain near Kathmandu valley.

The top of Phulchoki is 2780m from sea level. The view from the top of Phulchoki is really fantastic in clear weather. We suggest you go birding in Phulchoki because, besides the birding, you will also have beautiful views of the Kathmandu Valley, spectacular mountain views and hiking through beautiful forest helps to heal your body instead of staying in a crowded city.

October to May is the best time to birding in Phulchoki and Godawori forest. Similarly, many other seasonal birds can be seen during your half-day (about four hours) or full-day (about eight hours) trip. More than 310 different species of bird have been recorded in Phulchoki and Godawori.

Godawori and phulchoki bird watching cost $ 80 to 180 per day. Phulchoki birding cost depending on the numbers of pax in tour and duration of time. Itineraries

Day 01

Bird Watching in Phulchoki, Kathmandu

Drive from Hotel to Godawori or Phulchoki top, then birding as per planed and drive back to hotel as per half-day (4 hours) or full-day (maximum 8 hours) time.

• Transportation from hotel to birding destination and back to hotel as per cost.

Useful Information:
