Annapurna circuit trek is also popular as Ac trek. this trek is one of the most beautiful trekking destinations in Nepal. Kathmandu to besisahar is 175 km in road distance and besisahar to dharapani is about 43 km. total road distance from kathmandu to dharapani is about 218 km and it take almost 7-8 hours’ drive. Annapurna circuit trekking distance is approximately 110 km. In the beginning of Annapurna circuit trek, you will enjoy a real Nepalese mountain life, Hindu and Buddhist culture, terrace farming, water falls, beautiful landscape.

Itineraries

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu

A representative from Guide for Nepal Pvt. Ltd. will heartily welcome to you in Tribhuvan international (TIA) airport 1370 meter from sea level in any time of your arrival and help you transfer to hotel at Thamel. Kathmandu is capital city of Nepal and it is normally busy during the day. It is about 15-25 minutes’ drive from airport to Thamel. It depends on your arrival time and traffic. You might have some time to explore Thamel or visit some important place in Kathmandu city and final preparation for Trekking from next day.

Day 02

Kathmandu to Dharapani

After breakfast in your hotel first day journey start from Kathmandu to Besisahar by private vehicle driving about 175 km via Prithivi high way. Besisahar to Dharapani is about 43 km drive throw off road. Kathmandu to dharapani is about 218 km takes almost 7-8 hours. Dharapani is situated at 1860 meters above sea level.

Day 3

Dharapani to Chame

First day of Annapurna circuit trek start from Dharapani following marsyangdi river valley, passing danakyu, timang village, thanchok and koto village where from naar-phu trek is starts. Trek from dharapani to chame is gradually uphill and some place is step up to timang village. Timang is good place for tea/coffee or lunch break it depends on your time. From timang the rest trail is more easier following motor road to Chame 2713-meter. Dharapani to chame takes about 6-7 hours, ascending almost 850 meters for roughly 16 km in distance. Chame is headquarters of manang district where all the local government office, small hospital, public and private boarding school are located.

Day 4

Chame to Pisang

Trek starts after breakfast from Chame just crossing marsyangdi river and following continue from other side throw talekhu – bratang apple garden. You might taste some local apple pie, apple cider and many other local products from apple. Trek is gradually up to dhukur pokhari throw some pine forest. Dhukur pokhari is the only lunch break option for most trekkers. Last part after lunch is 1-2 hours easy walk to Pisang 3185-meter. There is option to stay in upper pisang or lower pisang. Both places are nice, upper pisang might better for view and lower can be better to sleep in lower altitude. Normally chame to pisang is 14 km and ascending almost 500-meter average time is 5-6 hours.

Day 5

Pisang to Manang

There are two option trails from pisang to go manang village 3540-meter. The main normal trail go throw humde airport takes 4-6 hours to reach manang village. This trail is more recommended for slow and easy walking trekkers. Other upper trail throws ghyaru and ngawal village better for views takes 6-8 hours to reach manang village. Upper route is just recommendable for fit, fast and strong person to walking at that altitude reach from pisang to manang in one day. Pisang to manang is roughly 15 km throw humde airport and 19 km throw ngawal village.

Day 6

Acclimatization Day

This extra day at Manang is specially for acclimatize your body at that altitude but you still can do some short activities around Manang village. Chongkor view point and Gangapurna glacier lake is better place for few hours hike before lunch due to normally clear weather in the morning time. You can visit to clinic to listen about AMS talk in the afternoon.

Day 7

Manang to Yak Kharka

Take a hot breakfast and start your trek to Yak Kharka 4195-meters following Annapurna circuit trail. Manang to yak kharka trail gradually uphill and some easy flat takes 4-5 hours and total distance is 10 km. total scent from manang to yak kharka is 655 meters. You might finish trek before lunch time and after noon will be warm and well rest in lodge.

Day 8

Yak Kharka to Phedi

Yak Kharka to Phedi 4430-meter is just 7km you can finish before lunch normally takes 4-5 hours. When you reach phedi take any hot drinks as you like, eat a lunch properly, stay warm and hydrated. You can have a good rest in the afternoon but don’t go for deep sleep during the day.

Day 9

Phedi – Thorong La Pass - Muktinath

Today is the big day to cross Thorong-La Pass, 5416 meters and descending all the way down to Mukthinath 3710 meters. So, wake up early morning on mentioned time with all necessary equipment and make sure carry some dry food/chocolate bar, enough water. Take some hot breakfast before you leave lodge and start your trek as soon as possible reach top on time before worse windy and cloudy. It is almost 1000 meters ascent from thorong phrdi to thorong la pass and more than 1600 meters descent from thorong la pass to muktinath. The total distance from thorong phedi to muktinath is 15 km. this big day might need 7-10 hours. Muktinath temple is situated at 3710 meters above sea level in mustang district. Muktinath is very important scared place for both Hindu and Buddhist and also popular for tourist as well. You can visit muktinath temple on the way down or tomorrow early morning if you have enough time before start trek.

Day 10

Muktinath to Jomsom

There is jeep, bus service from Mukthinath to Jomsom 2760 meters if you feel tired and boring to walk last day trek to Jomsom. You might need to pay yourself for this option service if you use. Muktinath to jomsom is 21 km descending almost 1100 meters which normally takes 4-6 hours walking throw kali Gandaki river valley. It is your last day of Annapurna circuit trek with your Guide and porter. So, if you want you can offer them dinner and good celebration.

Day 11

Jomsom to Pokhara

Jomsom to Pokhara flight operate from early morning because after 10 am is quite strong windy each day. So, most of the flight is before 10 am. Jomsom to Pokhara flight offer you magnificent view of Annapurna range on your left side and Dhaulagiri range on your right side. Jomsom to Pokhara flight is just 25 minutes and hole afternoon is free to take rest or explore lakeside, Pokhara.

Day 12

Pokhara to Kathmandu

You can have breakfast as program and be ready to back Kathmandu on time as per planned, drive 6-8 hours or fly 25 minutes.

Day 13

Back to home

If your flight time is late afternoon or evening, you can visit some place in Kathmandu your own or if you need help, we can provide guide and vehicle on extra charge. Otherwise, be ready at hotel on time as per your flight details to catch international flight. A Representative from Guide for Nepal Pvt Ltd will arrange transportation and drop you in Tribhuvan international (TIA) airport and good bye for this time wishing safe journey back to home.

Mostly twin bed room with common toilet, few place is sharing room.

There is no snow all the time.

March to May and October to December is the best time to go Annapurna base camp trek.
